Refund policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
We want you to be fully satisfied with your sword. This Refund Policy explains how cancellations, returns, refunds and our Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee work on medieval-sword.store (the "Site"), operated by Fuji Corp Kft ("Medieval Sword", "we", "us", "our").
1. Order Cancellations and Modifications
You can cancel or modify your order within 2 hours of placing it by emailing support@medieval-sword.store. After this period, your order enters our fulfillment process (preparation, sharpening, engraving) and can no longer be changed. You will still be able to return it after delivery under our 30-day return policy.
If your cancellation is accepted, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method within 14 days.
2. 30-Day Return Policy
You have 30 days from the day you receive your order to request a return. To be eligible, your item must be:
- Unused: not used for cutting, sparring or training, with no marks, nicks or scratches caused by use.
- Complete: returned with its scabbard, accessories and any documentation.
- Well packed: in its original packaging, or in packaging offering equivalent protection.
Return shipping costs are paid by the customer, unless the return is due to an error on our part or to a damaged or defective item. Because of their length, swords usually need to be returned with a courier rather than a standard postal service. Contact us before shipping and we will advise you on the best option for your country.
Would you prefer a different model or option? The fastest way is to return your item for a refund and place a new order.
3. Items That Cannot Be Returned
- Engraved and personalized swords: swords with custom engraving, or blades modified at your request (for example a custom sharpening or edge adjustment), are made to your specifications. They cannot be returned or refunded unless they are defective, damaged or do not match your order.
- Final Sale items: items clearly marked "Final Sale" on their product page (for example clearance items) are not eligible for our 30-day return policy.
- Used items: swords that have been used for cutting, sparring or training, or that were damaged after delivery.
These exclusions do not affect your statutory rights, in particular your rights if an item is defective and the right of withdrawal of consumers in the EU/EEA and the United Kingdom described in Section 9.
4. How to Start a Return
- Email us at support@medieval-sword.store with your order number and the reason for your return (with photos if the item is damaged or defective).
- We will reply with the return address and instructions. Please do not ship your item before receiving them: returns sent to the wrong address may be lost or delayed.
- Pack the sword securely with the edge fully protected (especially for sharpened blades) and ship it with a tracked service within 14 days of receiving our instructions. Keep your proof of shipment.
5. Refund Process
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will email you to confirm whether it is approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned item. Your bank may need a few additional business days to show the refund on your account.
- We refund the price paid for the returned product. As shipping is free, no shipping costs were charged on your order.
- Any part of an order paid with a gift card or store credit is refunded as store credit.
- Returns sent cash on delivery (COD) or with charges payable on receipt will be refused.
6. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, defective or different from what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery at support@medieval-sword.store with your order number and clear photos of the outer box, the inner packaging and the product showing the issue.
We will review your claim within 2 business days and offer you a free replacement or a full refund, including any return shipping costs. Please keep all packaging until your claim is resolved, as the carrier may ask to inspect it. Reporting quickly allows us to file a claim with the carrier; it does not limit your statutory rights regarding defective products.
7. Customs, Duties and Seizures
For most destinations, import duties and taxes are included in our prices and prepaid by us, so there are no customs fees to pay on delivery. Full details are available in our Shipping Policy.
It is your responsibility to make sure the sword you order can be legally imported and owned where you live. We cannot be held responsible for parcels delayed, refused or seized by customs because of local import restrictions, and we cannot guarantee a refund for items seized for this reason.
8. Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee
Every sword sold on medieval-sword.store is backed by our Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee, free of charge. This guarantee is offered in addition to your statutory rights and does not affect them.
What is covered
Defects in materials or workmanship that appear under normal use, for as long as you own the sword. For example:
- a blade that cracks or breaks because of a forging or heat-treatment defect;
- a tang failure, or a guard, grip or pommel that comes loose because of an assembly defect;
- a structural defect of the scabbard that is not caused by misuse.
Normal use means display and handling, cutting practice on suitable soft targets (such as water bottles, pool noodles or tatami mats) with a sharpened sword, and HEMA drills and sparring with an unsharpened sword and proper protective equipment.
What is not covered
- Misuse or abuse: striking hard objects (metal, stone, concrete, bone, frozen or other hard targets), prying, throwing, dropping or using the sword as a tool.
- Sparring or blade-on-blade contact with a sharpened sword.
- Normal wear: edge nicks, rolled edges, scratches, dulling, patina and the natural aging of leather and wood.
- Rust or corrosion caused by humidity or a lack of maintenance (clean and oil your blade regularly and store it in a dry place).
- Modifications, disassembly, re-sharpening or repairs carried out by you or a third party.
- Damage caused by accidents, improper storage or transport by you.
- Natural variations of handmade products, which are not defects.
How to make a claim
Email us at support@medieval-sword.store with your order number, a description of the issue and clear photos or a video. We will reply within 2 business days. We may ask you to send the sword back for inspection. If your claim is accepted, we cover the shipping costs.
Remedies
If your claim is accepted, we will repair your sword or replace it with the same model or, if it is no longer available, with a model of equivalent value. If neither option is possible, we will issue store credit up to the purchase price.
The guarantee applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase from medieval-sword.store and is not transferable. Fraudulent or incomplete claims may be refused.
9. Right of Withdrawal for Consumers in the EU/EEA and the UK
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. This right applies alongside our 30-day return policy, and the conditions of our policy do not restrict it.
- Withdrawal period: 14 days from the day you, or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you, take physical possession of the goods (for orders delivered in several parcels, from receipt of the last parcel).
- How to withdraw: inform us of your decision with a clear statement, for example by email to support@medieval-sword.store. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not mandatory. Sending your notice before the period expires is sufficient.
- Returning the goods: send the goods back to the address we provide without undue delay and no later than 14 days after informing us of your withdrawal. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
- Refund: we will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision, using the same means of payment unless you expressly agree otherwise. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have provided proof that you have sent them, whichever comes first.
- Handling: you are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
- Exception: the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalized, such as engraved swords.
Consumers in the EU/EEA and the UK also benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for goods (generally 2 years from delivery in the EU).
